Roy Herndon, Ph.D. Roy Herndon, Ph.D., Executive Director

Dr. Herndon is the Executive Director of the Institute for Cooperative Environmental Research (ICER) at Florida State University. He also serves as Executive Director of the Center for Biomedical & Toxicological Research and Hazardous Waste Management (CBTR), an integral part of the ICER, which applies its technical expertise in the areas of toxicology and risk assessment to a wide variety of human health and environmental problems worldwide.

Dr. Herndon is also the Director of Research for the Institute of Science and Public Affairs at Florida State University. In 1992 he was awarded an Honorary Professorship by the faculty of the Technical University of Budapest for his contributions to its environmental program. Dr. Herndon is the founder and past chair of the biennial symposium series on environmental contamination in Central and Eastern Europe.

In 1980 he established the Southern Waste Information Exchange which continues to provide waste exchange and waste management services to industry nationwide. He is the author of numerous publications in physics as well as hazardous waste management. Dr. Herndon is a member of the American Physical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and Sigma Xi. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and is listed in "Who's Who in America" and "American Men of Science".
